MIFUMI Scholarship Fund
Purpose
The purpose of MIFUMI Scholarship fund is to educate the most able but under privileged students transforming them into future leaders for their rural community.
Objective
MIFUMI Scholarship Fund supports under privileged children particularly in Tororo district, Eastern Uganda.
The organization runs a primary school located in Mifumi village, 27km from Tororo town. Tororo district is 200km east of the capital city of Uganda, i.e. Kampala. School going children in this upcountry setting are under privileged, as most of them stem from very poor families living below the poverty index of $1 per day.
The government has done a good job in introducing Universal Primary Education (UPE), however secondary school going children still have to pay fees. This acts to kill the otherwise bright future of these under privileged children upcountry, at an early age just after primary school.
How to support
The cost of educating a child is approximately £15 per month, of which 100% goes directly to support the child. If you are interested in subscribing to the Mifumi Scholarship Program click the subscribe button at the bottom right corner of this page.
